Was this poor coverage evident when you first viewed your new home? Or has it only become evident since? There could be a temporary outage if the latter.

Every network has their own infrastructure thus coverage will vary. EE generally has the most consistent service nationally, but will never be perfect everywhere nor will any single network be likely to offer 100% national indoor service.

I suspect your reference to O2 "moving the signal" is the offer of a "Signal box" which was a 3G picocell using your home broadband to back-haul. EE also offered these, but are now legacy with 3G switch-off. WiFi-calling has replaced it.

WiFi-calling is an excellent mitigation for poor indoor service, while you should choose the network that offers the best overall national coverage in the locations you frequent.

Hope this is the right place to post this query.

just moved to new home and my mobile has zero connection. This is odd because other mobiles like vodaphone do work.

as my contract is almost up should I switch to a new provider that offers better coverage for my area or is there an alternative solution that keeps me with EE who I’m otherwise happy with?

I recall when I used to be with O2 back in the day I called them in a similar scenario and they updated somehow the signal to where my phone was registered for the two months I was at this other location. This time it is a permanent change and it’s crucial I am able to use my phone normally so wondering of anyone out there also experienced this and what was the solution.

In my opinion, if you don't have any EE signal at home, then you should move networks. You could use wifi calling, but that requires a broadband connection. If that's down, you have no backup. Whilst I realise we should be trying to promote EE here, if you live in a dead spot, find a network that does work.

That said, do check out the EE service status page for your area, check there's no local issue that's due to be fixed soon. You could also call EE and they can check their systems to see if there's other issues going on. They often have a bit more in depth knowledge from all their systems than the web page will give you.
