Poor coverage since the site in the town was taken away

Princes Risborough Bucks, 4G site has been removed recently it had been there since the late 1990's. Now it's gone the outdoor coverage in the town centre is non existent, with indoor cellular coverage absolutely gone.

When will the coverage be restored in the town? Does anyone in this forum know how to find out when the service is going to be usable again.

Even Vodafone works better than EE, that's saying something in my experience...

Are you saying the site has been physically removed?

Or querying whether it's off-service temporarily? The latter can be checked via "check service status" on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker

From what I can see online, it looks like the physical 4G mast has been removed without any replacement. Coverage as you go past on the train is non-existent and there have been multiple complaints of poor/no coverage in the town itself.

Thank you, I wonder how the service is going to be restored?
Any ideas how I can find out whether it will be restored soon or if I need
to change my subscription to another MNO? It's not usable at the moment.

Yes the site has gone, and the coverage checker shows inaccurate information about the coverage levels.

I note no reply form anyone from inside the EE community team... Not very good really ..

Any ideas how I can escalate this to get the removed site replaced or at least some indication on what the companies plans are to retire the service to a level where it is usable?

there is a new mast built on New Road Hill, its been there for a couple of months any chance of turning it on

Does anyone know what’s going on with the new EE/Three mast that was installed and equipped by MBNL at New Road / Hawthorn Road, Princes Risborough in December 2025?

The signal in the town remains unusable in large part and it’s frustrating to see this new mast in place and seemingly ready, but not live.

Once a new mast is in place it can still be a long time until it is switched on. I can think of two near me that both took over a year.

Physical installation of the tower/monopole is part of a site build, and with monopole sites in particular, the antennas are often pre-installed.

The site may still need mains power, ground-level radio equipment and/or backhaul comms being installed.

Thanks - enabling works were in October, the mast was raised in November. I saw the ground-level equipment being installed in early December; power was completed in December as far as I'm aware (UKPN roadworks looked to have been successful and finished on time, no further activity since). Openreach were busy working in the area in December and January but of course they may not have finished the backhaul. Is there any way to find out? EE don't appear to have any info about the mast at all.

Sadly the situation hasn't changed since Bob's original post. The centre of the town has no usable signal.

The Technical Team have no information. I have also raised a complaint about the about the lack of information about this mast, but met with.... no further information. EE recommend I speak to MBNL. MBNL refer me to EE.
