I am increasingly disappointed by the EE coverage, particularly in the South of England. I visit many places in my motorhome and in Wareham, Hertfordshire, I could only get ½ bar on your GSM signal which means that my mobile WiFi is useless. The signal is similar in the New Forest area and I rely on this signal to use video conferencing while I am moving around the country. I am considering changing to another network. Your phones may have more features but they are communication devices and your network is the bearer which is not performing to standards expected in 2026.

Of more concern should be that your phone/device is only getting 2G signal - you mention GSM, not sure if this is literal or not, but if so - this would deliver approx 30KB/s at best. Check whether your device is not to 2G-only or suchlike, and that it's accessing 4G/5G coverage. It's not unusual for 4G coverage to exceed that of 2G.

If this isn't literal, then the number of bars should not have any direct impact on your data speed which is not measured by those bars. "only one bar" can often outperform 5bars, depending on the capacity available.
