The past few weeks, 5g connectivity has been appalling during the day. When service is up, speeds are fine and normal - but every day now, during the middle of the day, connectivity drops. Seeing as my 5g router can’t drop down to a 4g service, there’s a sometimes hours on end where service is dropping, painfully slow, and unusable.

This has only happened in the past few weeks, but doesn’t seem to be going away. I’ve had the 5g router for about 16 months, and rarely had issues.

Whats changed? Is there work going on in Birmingham city centre? I rely on this for work, so if it’s not going to improve - I’ll have to get another solution.

This is still an ongoing problem, even breaking and slowing for hours at non-peak times.

I would use the service checker for more information, but every time I’ve tried using it for the past two months - it’s saying that the tool is temporarily not available.

I don’t think I have any choice, but to cancel service for this. If I can’t get any clarification on what’s changed, and no indication of any change in the future, then what’s the point.

It doesn't affect 4G or 5G technologies in the same way.

These just exhibit reduced data speeds when congestion occurs.

I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this - I work from home (alone), and the 5G just drops out and slows down without warning at random times in the day. As I said before: I've had the 5G home router for working from home for about a year without issue, and it's recently become temperamental, meaning I can't rely on it for work anymore.

I can't check any area with the Status checker. I've tried in different browsers, I've tried on my phone - and it *always* shows the message:

This service isn’t working right now

Please try again later or contact us for support.

As you're receiving an error message when trying, I'd recommend clearing your browser cookies and cache then try again.

When you're using checking the Status Checker on your mobile phone, please try it using the phones own mobile data, rather than being connected to your 5G router WiFi.

If you're still struggling to check, the next step would be to contact Customer Service where a Technical Guide will be able to investigate for you and raise a ticket if required.

Ali

- I've tried multiple browsers (Firefox, chrome and Edge). With each I've refreshed and cleared cache (including manual shift+refresh)
- I've tried on my mobile phone, safari and chrome. Neither work.

Ultimately: I don't particularly care about the service checker because if service is down then I'm not going to be able to check it anyway. The original concern still stands, and if I can't even get an inclination of what's going wrong, what's changed or if this will improve - I'm wasting money on a completely useless service from EE.
