Normally a transfer from PAYG > pay-monthly is just an account change, and you just continue using your existing working SIM - no need to unnecessarily replace it.

What makes you think otherwise?

Hi. My elderly mother in law upgraded her sim card from payg to monthly contract, but me n my husband and both tried to activate her new sim that her old number has been transferred to with no avail. She has standard nokia phone as she dont use a smartphone. Why cant we activate her sim card if she has no signal to receive a otp in a text message to activate her new sim???

Hi @Sambamz42

Welcome to the community.

That's a great point from @bristolian. Does the old SIM card work? If the new SIM needs to be activated, it may be worth speaking with our Customer Care team so they can do it from our side for you.
