The term "5G mast" or "5G tower" isn't really accurate. All of EE's radio sites are multi-technology, carrying a combination of 2G, 4G & 5G services across multiple frequency bands. 4G is generally regarded as the base layer, with 2G and/or 5G techs added depending on local config.

Technology & carrier adds are an ongoing process - this can mean adding additional bands/capacity on existing techs (4G) or adding new technologies (5G) entirely.

The best place for info on new site builds is your local authority planning department/website.

We have only a few 5G (NSA - using 4G) cell towers close by in our area and no 5G stand-alone towers.

Any way of finding out if EE are due to upgrade or put in new 5G towers in a certain area ?

I'm at postcode FY5 in UK

Thanks

[MOD EDIT - removed full postcode from the forum]
