The recent severe weather has caused power outages in some areas, but the result of that is that radio sites go off-air and are not providing coverage. If your phone shows network coverage, then self-evidently this is not the problem. Note all networks are equally affected by this, it's not an EE-specific issue.

It would be possible for a phone with no coverage from its home network, to find alternate network with service and display coverage. This could potentially explain the issue you are having - however I don't believe you would register with VoLTE thus your comment of seeing that indicator, probably rules that out.

Welcome to the EE Community!

If you haven't already, can you please take a look at our network status checker to see if there's anything going on in the area?

Also when you look at your signal bars, is it showing no service full stop, or can you see signal bars and a 4G indicator?
Peter

VoLTE is the technology underpinning 4G-voice calling, there is no need to disable it.

Can you clarify what you mean by "having 4 bars" but "haven't had signal for a week"?

Those bars are your signal, confirmed by the VoLTE indicator.

Lol I understand. Clarify I haven't had signal to call or use 4g for a week despite it showing on my phone. Looking on the community and speaking to 2 friends it's clearly not a device issues. The website and app and getting forced to speak to sales team every time I top up with a voucher is just annoying. How do I lived network provider whilst keeping this mobile number?

Hi @treborcpfc123.

There is still a little bit of conflict in what you are saying.

If there was no signal, you wouldn't see any bars or 4G displayed on the phone screen, and may show something like SOS or Emergency Calls Only.

If there is signal and 4G, but you are having trouble using the phone, we'd look it as a service issue. It just helps us make sure we are looking at the right things to try to help you.

What happens when you try to call or use data? Are you able to send and receive texts or receive calls?

Did you enter your post code on the network checker that @Peter_W mentioned above? That will show if there is any current network issues in the area that can impact the service.

Is it just happening in one location or different places?

Thtas what im trying to say- showing with signal bars showing with 4g and
cant call or get internet, if i go on aerolane mode it comes back and works
for about 30seconds- just been in EE shop and for the first time im told
pay as you go is restricted speed data?

I am not a moron- ive used phones with 4g for a long time, ive had this
phone and used it with no issue for 2 years- i speak to my friends and he
said he had no signal with EE last week- there was a big storm has this
affected signal?

When i put an o2 sim card in my phone there is no problem. So apparently
mobile phone customers only get 10mbs max- how long has this been the case?

Anyway I think i realise no ;point complaining just change provider
