Contrary to a popular misconception, there's nothing inherently wrong with "only one bar" - it's still coverage!

What problems are you having with using your phone? Are you having any issues with voice calls, text messages or mobile data?

If you have a WiFi-connection at home, you can use WiFi-calling to allow voice calls & text messages without any mobile service - the facility will only kick in when mobile coverage is deemed unusable.
