The EE signal in and around London is terrible. For months now the signal is lacking. What are we paying for a service provider in the technological advances of communication these days to have signals drop, no 5g, continual drop in signal.
this is not a devise issue as I have had this issue with Iphone 13 and also my new Iphone 16.

Be honest EE, what is going on, don’t just state, what is the signal status report in your area and expect the users to look into your issue!

@bristolian most of the metropolitan line, central London around Lloyds of London, Fenchuch street, Cornhill. Liverpool Street station, Kings Cross and area. The underground is very poor as by the time you log into WiFi you're out of range again. I also have the VIP service which is questionable.

I am based in EC4 and, like several of my colleagues, have had no signal in the office since the August bank holiday.

Anything that works through the wifi is fine but I just cannot speak to anyone when they call my mobile. I can only get one dot of a signal if I stand next to the window!

EE said back in Septemer that they have decommissioned a mast in this area and that it could take months before it is replaced. Well it is now November and I am not happy. Actually thinking of switching to Vodafone as they have an excellent signal in London.

Completely agree. EE 5G in and around London is extremely unstable.

When I first upgraded to 5G I was blown away at how fast and reliable the connection was. Now it feels worse than the 3G days.

I think the UK infrastructure is not up to scratch..we've been sold a lie with 5G unfortunately

As someone who has been with EE for 8 years (6 in Bristol and 2 in Cardiff) having recently got a job in London I can honestly say that while you’d think London is so big that it can’t be that bad all over… it honestly is. My phone is constantly looking for signal. Trains (not tube) are especially problematic. But other people seem to have perfectly good signal. One day I was walking down Oxford street and it had been days of this happening across London so I went into the store to ask if there’s anything wrong with my phone. The manager there reset my network settings but all that did is erase all wifis i had set up but didn’t improve the service quality. It’s a shame because in Cardiff (and Bristol) EE has always been beyond exceptional but in London it’s simply dire. Apparently Vodafone and o2 are particularly good in the city. But yeah anyway, to the original poster… if your phone takes 20 minutes to find signal when coming out of the underground. Or you’re on a street and you seem to be the only person who can’t connect to your 5G, you’re not crazy and you’re not alone 🙂

I travel the country quite extensively, but have been in and around London a lot the past few weeks. Using a 4G phone, but EE's service is consistently more reliable than colleagues on O2 & VF experience. VF drop to 2G an awful lot, and their 4G data is either excellent in one spot but unusable later - EE is consistent. O2 drops to 3G more than I've ever known it.

At least with EE, the service is consistent and always usable. Getting coverage outside tube stations is also a lot quicker since the underground mobile network has been expanding. So I reckon it's the opposite to all the other posts - EE's coverage is consistent whereas o2 & Voda have been going downhill big-time

I live in SE9, I bought EE sim card online with the intention to move from Vodafone. The EE data is terrible where I live (5Mbps download, below 1Mbps upload), while Vidafone has download of 77Mbps and upload of about 45Mbps and 5G without a problem. I tried in the neighbourhood and it's all the same. So much for advertising as the best network.

BTW - you can check signal of all phone operators on Mastdata - it only confirms that.

You can check on Mastdata - whole areas in South East London neglected. I live in SE9, in my neighbourhood almost no EE reception. I carry a phone with EE sim card and Mastdata app running, and it collects the data. It only confirms that.

Coverage in London worst it’s ever been for EE’s entire history ( and Oranges before that). Struggling across Westminster daily and have been for months. No 5g, 4g drop to 1 or 2 bars or nothing - Covent Garden last night, zero. Tube too gone unlike before.

I am on a Full Works type plan and an S23 and so can benefit from the best possible speeds- yes lucky me- but I genuinely don't have any major issues in London- and I travel all over it a lot on foot/ public transport?

If you are on an Essentials Plan your highest potential speed (100Mbps) is lower than a Full Works plan and so this may impact your experience in busy areas of course- just a thought.

BTW, if you can sometimes switching to 4G only gives a more stable experience- just my experience.

Also if you have WiFi switched on (and I think WiFi Boost free extra, maybe everyone has it?) -there are a lot of Hotspots now in London...

I have a VF work phone and EE is lightyears ahead generally re data speeds indoor and outdoor, no context- but of course no network is 100% - buy a cheap VF / O2 / 3 (check MSE online?) and compare experiences....

I can’t agree more with this post.

lived in Sydney for 9years and 4G / 5G there was exceptional to the point where you never lose signal… even driving an hour or two beyond sydney

the signal here is woeful even in central London, in major landmarks and stations . Hopeless.

and 9years after returning from Sydney to UK our village still only is guaranteed 2mbs broadband by EE. Pathetic
