Can't make any calls within the UK

My phone won't allow me to make any calls although I have signal and strong Wi-Fi connection. It cuts off as soon as I hit call..
Can someone please help?

A WiFi-connection only matters if you have no network coverage and am reliant on WiFi-calling.

A few questions here.. in no particular order... Are you in the UK or abroad? Is this a recent problem? Are you on PAYG or pay-monthly? Can you receive calls? Can you send & receive text messages?

Hello @MSK2 I think my mate @bristolian is on the right lines but don’t think it’s what’s causing this problem.

Just like @bristolian said Wi-Fi calling only matters if your connected to a broadband connection and this feature has been enabled, and will also work over 4G & 5G if your signal is too weak to make a call.

lets look at the SIM card on this problem, let’s try a different sim in that phone and your sim in a different phone like a friend or family member to see if it’s the phone or the SIM card.

does this only happen to landlines or mobiles or both?

Whilst the SIM could be the issue, a logical approach always helps in "I can't make calls" scenarios.

A network issue would affect all users indiscriminately - so ask friends or relatives locally, whether they have issues. If you can send or receive text messages, that rules out a SIM issue. A basic check is to see whether you have network coverage displayed - do you?

WiFi-calling works inplace of a mobile network connection.
