We have the same problem here in Oban, Argyll and the updates as to the repair work are ridiculous (needing to get access to the site… did they not have that already?) and then when they did, discovering the transmitter was quite tall so now need a specialist team (did they bot know this already?!). Crazy and utterly infuriating. I suggest that you immediately request a free month on your bill and keep doing that for as long as this goes on. Take screenshots of the loss of signal too, and post on your local information Facebook page to find other people experiencing the same problems to give your complaint legs. Good luck and I feel your pain. Will be leaving EE asap, despite using them for years, as this has been so disappointing and irritating. Lxx

Thank you, I’m sure thousands upon thousands are suffering, but do nothing about this, it’s very sad the people at EE don’t care. Keep well

Remote diagnostics can go so far in identifying the source of a fault, but sometimes "boots on the ground" are the only way of making sure.

Depending on the individual site config, all accessible/ground-based equipment will be ruled out before access to MHA or other tower-mounted kit is deemed needed. If that needs specialist access or climbers, then that's not always a quick fix.

Nothing about not caring, just about the practicalities of fault-finding.
