5G enhancements in Liverpool

Hello,

Is anyone aware of EE’s plans to further improve and build upon its existing 5G network in Liverpool?

At the moment there are large patchy spots where 5G only works outdoors and speeds are slow.

What details are you seeking? Both 4G & 5G rollout is ongoing, but 4G is the base layer and deployed on all network sites. Site-specific rollout details aren't released publicly.

Hello @WaterWheel

It’s a priority to give everyone in the UK 5G no matter of your location before anyone other Provider.

Now 2G & 3G has been turned off it’s left a lot of places like the high lands without mobile data.

Now EE is that on a mission to provide 5G to every customer and FF2.5GB services in the fastest time frame possible.

Full Fibre should be completed by end of 2026 and 5G should be completed by 2028.

it’s important to note that these dates can change.

Thanks. Yes, I meant outdoor only. Have edited. I was just curious to know whether that’s it now for 5G for the next few years, or whether there was plans to further upgrade the network in core cities, that I hadn’t seen.

2G has not been switched off by any operator. 3G remains fully live on one. 4G coverage on EE has exceeded 2G/3G for many years now. Lack of 2G causes major issues with calls for non-VoLTE users.

Quite a few other parts of your post are inaccurate, but these are the more glaring examples.

You can track the progress HERE as well as subscribe to any updates or maintenance etc etc.

NEW EE Does MORE! On a mission to become a household leader.

The EE Store is on a mission to rival Currys and not the same link as ee.co.uk.

while EE aims to become a more personal brand to its staff and customers the services will take time to match its sister Plusnet and Parent BT and NEW EE is essential a whole new business new systems, staff, offices, etc using BT resources, EE legacy after BT’s buyout of EE back in 2016, EE was left to run as a separate entity now NEW EE is essential BT’s trading name as EE will be the consumer brand only while BT becomes business only.

This means NEW EE is relying on BT systems and infrastructure while new systems and processes are being made.

This is why BT & EE Guides are the same team while EE Legacy still a completely different team.

It’s a priority for every customer to benefit from NEW EE.

this is why NEW EE what’s to win the household and be the first to release new services.

@bristolian Definitely not inaccurate it’s part of the big switch off, every provider must stuff off 3G and 2G is following so most areas now no longer have 3G, some areas still do wasn’t a turn off on one single day but it’s happening if you want to admit that or not.

Numerous parts of your statements vary between misleading & plain inaccurate.

2G equipment is still being installed, I have no idea what you mean by "stuff off 3G". I presume your comment about some areas still having 3G is based on other networks or perhaps misunderstanding an industry trend, but this is an EE-specific forum and I would welcome specific examples of where you feel my previous posts were inaccurate.

Perhaps do so in a new thread though, to save derailing the original query here more than already.

I stand by every one of my comments in this thread so far.

right okay… I’m bound to the terms and conditions laid out by NickBS the Community Leader and Administrator for BT and EE Communities for that reason I cannot go into more detail of why my information is more accurate then yours.

you can happily review this EE page to back up my argument regarding the big switch off, EE are installing 4G & 5G in more rural areas to be the first over it’s competitors.

I think you need to do your own research buddy.

My previous comments are based not on any community status, but on other factors.

You've claimed that "2G & 3G has been turned off" and yet in another post "most areas now no longer have 3G". The 3G RAN has been sun-setted, 2G equipment is still being installed.

I'm well aware of the numerous PR released, but have no intention of being drawn into a debate with users who continue to post inaccurate & vague statements.
