The 3G system is being closed down in my area to prepare for 5G. I know 4GLTE will continue for a while.

When I buy a 5G device , how can I find out if my current EE SIM card ending ****6429 will work at 5G?

Will I have to get a new mobile number?.

EE's 3G network was fully closed at the end of January 2024. 4G is currently EE's base coverage.

All non-4G phones will now use 2G permanently.

Thanks for reply.

I am not acontract user, I pay by weekly rolling subscription pack which I have had many years.

I was thinking more longer term when 4G closes also, but at nearly 80 yrs maybe I'm being too optimistic !

I use it mainly for internet access ,rather than calls, as I have no landline or broadband WiFi hub or anything like that.
