WiFi Calling Not Working

WiFi calling is not working on iPhone, have attempted usual methods of forcing phone into airplane mode without success.

Internet signal is strong and fast.

Have reported it to my ISP in case they have changed settings or there is port forwarding config change needed on their router.

In the meantime, is there anything specific that EE have in place that can be looked into to re-establish WiFi calling?

Also, restart the router.

Have you tried wifi elsewhere, so you can see if it's a problem with your phone or broadband?

VoWiFi uses specific ports, but these are not ones that should need any derogation from a standard config - it requires intentional action to have blocked them.

Is this issue specific to your phone on any WiFi-network? Or is it specific to your router? Can other phones use WiFi-calling on the same router?

Thanks for replies - here's some more info / context

@Chris_B, @chistery - have restarted phone and also router. Have also checked phone and routers are on latest firmware / OS. Have also disconnected WiFi connection, and reinstated it. Have reset network settings on Phone. Have reset WiFi Calling settings on phone.

@Northerner - am on pay monthly contract. Have been on same phone / contract for number of years.

@bristolian - agreed and hence my confusion. Issue is common to multiple iphones in the house. But has worked previously and does in other locations / other people's house / elsewhere.

Have spoken with EE support, and eliminated all options via troubleshooting pretty much everything obvious their end.

Am now awaiting contact from ISP. Have recently changed over and would appear that the root cause of issue could be their end, either in their router config that needs adjusting or the geolocation of their IP ranges they are issuing their customers.

Thanks for your help - happy to close this one down for now.. unless anyone else has had the same issue and found a fix that was EE specific.

If your ISP's IP address is geo-located outside the UK, that would cause this. It's an easy check via "whatismyip" or similar sites.

ISP's occasionally reallocate IP ranges and this can happen - it usually updates in a week or so.

It's unusual to only be affecting iOS & not Android, though. That would clearly suggest an issue specific to Apple OS.
