I have the same problem.

I've got a Sony Xperia 1ii that's 5G

And bought a 5G data add on. In a 5G area.

I've also selected 5G in preferred networks.

Any ideas?

@Tom_sonyxperia There isn’t any 5G add ons that give you 5G. All contract ( including sim only contracts ) are sold with a 5G connection as standard. 5G isn’t available to PAYG at present and there are definitely no add ons that give you 5G.

you sure you haven’t purchased a 5Gb data add on ?

I'm on PAYG and under add-ons, there is a 5G data add-on.

It shouldn't let me buy a 5G data add-on if I can't have 5G on PAYG.

I was mis-sold.

@Tom_sonyxperia That’s 5Gb of data for you to use not a add on to allow 5G access. 5G isn’t available to PAYG and there is no add on to give you 5G access.

Post an image of that add on please, make sure there is no private information on it.

Out of interest, what do you want to do with your phone that needs a 5G connection, and for which 4G is insufficient?
