I have a Samsung S10 with dual SIM.
EE SIM is primary and set to default for calls, messages and data with a Vodafone PAYG SIM as secondary.

Problem is there are times when the EE SIM will not do Wi-Fi dialling even though this is set by default for both SIM cards which is a massive inconvenience as the EE signal in my home is not great, however the Vodafone PAYG SIM always seamlessly flips over to Wi-Fi dialling.

VF may well have different VoWiFi parameters to EE, I'm not familiar with their current setup but EE's will - by default - only kick in when the RX levels fall below a certain level.

A good test/workaround is to enable flight mode - thus forcing no coverage - then enable WiFi manually. Does this work?

Hi Bristolian,

I normally enable flight mode as soon as I get home and switch manually to WiFi due to the poor mobile signal coverage in my house. This normally works, however there are times when the EE SIM will still not flip over to WiFI dialling whereas the VF SIM will always flip over. On this ocassion I even restarted the phone to no avail. As stated previously it did eventually flip over

To clarify - you had a "no mobile coverage" scenario, with good WiFi-connection and WiFi-calling enabled... yet it didn't kick in?

How recently has this been happening?

EE WiFi-calling is intended as a coverage-expansion service for use in the UK, and is not supported abroad.

It will sometimes work outside the UK, but you should expect standard roaming charges to apply.

If you have an Android device have you checked the WiFi calling settings? On some devices there is an option under WiFi calling that you can toggle between "Mobile Network Preferred" and "WiFi Preferred". If left on Mobile Network Preferred the phone tends to hang on tenaciously to the mobile network (even with a very poor signal). Toggling this to WiFi network preferred *should* cause the phone to switch to WiFi calling regardless of mobile network availability. It certainly worked for me when I had similar WiFi calling issues.
