The phone won't connect to mobile internet on 4G/5G. When I try and make a call it says I have no credit and I need to top up (which I dont). When I select 2G/3G it connects to the mobile internet and also allows me to make calls again so how can it not be related to network coverage?

I'll see if I get a response to the ticket I sent off. This happened before when the 4G/5G network went down but they was working on it. This time there's no work being done or scheduled in my area.

Mobile internet is showing not connected when on 5G. It connects on 3G only. The issue first started at 9.30am then fixed itself at 10.30. The issue as happened again at 12.30 and still isn't resolved now. Also when I try to make a call it says I have no credit but I do.

The service status checker is saying there is no problem in my area but there clearly is. The phone settings are fine and haven't been changed, so it's definitely a network problem.

Please advise.

The credit message won't be caused by a network coverage issue, but have you tried toggling flight mode to force a reconnection to the network? If the issue is an idle-reselection one where the phone won't reselect 4G/5G after dropping down to 2G/3G, this should identify it.

Perhaps an issue of terminology, the purpose of the radio network is purely to provide coverage - switching & routing of calls, and authentication of phones, is handled by the central network.

2G & 3G use a different part of the central network to 4G/5G.
