Sounds like a potential handover issue, be it between serving cells or multiple carriers on the same cell.

What specific analysis are you hoping for, beyond that which could be reported to EE CS via the web status tool?

Are there any apps available for me to download to monitor network statistics that may shed light on a issue I am experiencing? This could potentially be a network issue affecting other people in a different way.

I am a radio ham and use digital radio whist in my car. This radio usually transmits back to a gateway at home (radio transceiver / interface / home router), a local repeater (radio transceiver / interface / network connection wired or wireless) or when out of range of those to a tiny mobile gateway in my car that works with my phones hotspot. For a short while during my daily commute, when using my mobile gateway I lose data and the voice is unintelligible. The radio works perfectly fine via any other connection into the amateur radio routing network. This is consistent on a particular stretch of road and I was wondering if I can do comparisons (obviously whilst parked up) between different cell sites the phone is connecting to.

Phone calls are fine on that section of road, they are perfectly clear. My mobile gateway works fine anywhere else, I only have the issue on a particular road and it can only be the connection to a particular cell.

NetMonster App (Android) is probably your best bet, but please remember as you are a Ham User, LTE and NR do not always behave like normal RF Radio Signals as you would expect them to.

Much certainly depends what you're hoping to achieve and your level of mobile network understanding.

For simple carrier & site identification, Network Cell Info Lite or Net Monitor Lite are as good as anything.

If youre an Android user and are willing to gather & submit crowd-sourced data, then Cellmapper is worth a shot. But this can be quite confusing for users wanting simple info.

Thanks guys for the info on the apps. Any info is useful to forward if possible. A call to CS regarding others devices is not helpful and they would not be interested in investigating a potential issue. I has this many years ago (Orange days) with a new handset and a firmware bug. I eventually got the evidence for the to get addressed.

I am a techy, in my previous job I was a design and development engineering for GEC Telecomms then GEC Plessey and then Siemens for a number of years.

I'll download some apps and see what info can be got with and without my issue when I get back of my holiday.
