Signal in Fort William.

I'm paying over £60 a month as not long after I signed up the price was increased. The signal and service in Fort William is absolutely dire just now. I'm so disappointed what a ridiculous amount of money to being paying for such poor service.

The amount you pay shouldn't have any bearing on the service you receive.

Is this a recent problem? There may be a recognised service issue if so - use "check status" on https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee as a first check.

No, but it's very annoying firstly to have the price increased so much shortly after taking out the contract and then to be paying such an amount when I the service is playing up ?

Out of interest, what is the nature of the poor service? Is this a total loss of coverage, or something else?

@SKYLIE Would would have had to agree to the T&Cs of the contract before taking it out. The annual price increase is part of the T&Cs.

Really ?? Thanks for stating the obvious, it was still annoying for it to hike so quickly, and makes it more annoying that I can't use my data because the signal is so poor ?

@SKYLIE whereabouts in Fort Bill are you?

Checking the coverage checkers there is good mobile signal in the town centre and most populated areas, depending on mast location, some providers are better than others.

But alas one of the other downsides to living such a fabulous area, I mean apart from the midges, is the hills get in the way of mobile phone reception. Some things you can do to help, alas others you can't or have to think again, for example move to a supplier with the best signal in your area.

As well as the EE coverage checker which seems not to be working at the moment, the OFCOM one will show expected signal quality in your home post code https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/

I come from the other Fort a bit further up the Great Glen, so can appreciate and sympathise with the challenges, happy to help or suggest if I can.

Is this purely affecting mobile data? And voice calls are unaffected? If so - that doesn't sound like a coverage issue.

I'm quite familiar with Fort William myself, coverage levels are rarely a problem there - with clear line of sight to the main sites covering the town, which are shared by multiple operators. There are certainly differences in data speeds between the networks, dictated by which parts of the 4G spectrum are in use.

I am in Caol, and up until recently E.E. were the best provider all over Fort William, which made it worthwhile the high payment. I hope your signal is good in Fort Aug.

Hey @SKYLIE probably not your post code, but there does seem to be an issue in the area:

Service problem in PH33 7DS

We're on it. We expect good service within 16 hours, but some fixes take a little longer.

Voice calls are affected too. A lot of complaints lately from locals about both, a local business woman today couldnt access her business page all day. I'm not stupid I know when it's an area problem. I'm not moaning for the sake of it. Why can't you accept EE are at fault here ? Hopefully it will be sorted soon as EE, for years have been the best in our area. I do not like paying for a service I'm not receiving.

Good news, and yes myself and several others from this area had logged calls or reported online. Others have been chatting about it lots over local social media.
