We’re in exactly the same situation, we’re in Lincolnshire and have the home 4g router.

We found the best signal spot in the house being right next to the window and usually get 2-3 bars.

signal with 3 bars is usually 60mb+ download and circa 20mb upload, 2 bars usually half’s the download speed to around 30mb.

The last 3-4 days we’ve been going from 1 - zero bars. Download speed ranging from 5-10mb with upload 0-0.5mb. Can’t do anything online or load pages if the upload side doesn’t communicate.

We’ve had zero issues for the last 4 years signal has always been fantastic.

Tried a second router same signal, used the sim in a phone outdoors and 1 bar on 4g so signal is very poor.

According to the status checker its a known problem, the first few days didn’t show as having an issue so was beginning to think bugger will have to switch. (Work from home and need the reliability).

Your issue is probably a similar thing something being repaired or maintenance.

EE has been pretty rock solid for us, hope it continues.

You can check for known network issues using the "check status" option on https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee

Depending on the result, "report a problem" may be the next step.
