This is one thing that frustrated me with 3, and disappointed its happening here

To this point i would turn on 5G completely

But as im on PAYG, and 4G only i quite like as it means i wont suffer with the above issue, especially if im on the edge of a 5g connection and getting poor signal

Its a shame the phones will only select based on the highest generation available rather than the strongest signal in your location

Hello, I have returned to EE on a Pay Monthly SIM and was curious. What is coverage like for everyone all around the UK?

Here in the West Mids its variable. What's everyone elses thoughts? 🙂

In terms of percentage coverage i think more or less each network is pretty much the same now, if they get planning permission for a tower all networks will be on it as they ten to mast share.

You may find in the odd area one network will be better covered than another, best to check where you live and work to see who is best.

In terms of data speeds and reliability EE has been fantastic for me, even in my touristic seasonal town where it just grinds to a halt on other networks in the summer but EE has been fine.

Yeah, I was on EE Pay as you go before and in a majority of towns in the West Mids I had never had coverage faults

So far though EE data speeds (even when capped at 100Mbps) was outstanding, even with medium service indoors in a shopping centre.

Within most urban areas there will be negligible outdoor difference between the main networks, but indoor coverage & data speeds can vary hugely.

Although many sites are shared, that is never a certainty and configs vary hugely on a site-by-site basis. There is also a huge gulf in geographic coverage between the networks, notably in rural areas.

Yeah I noticed it too, even in buildings with lack of coverage (it doesn't matter what operator you use).

On 3 the service would cut out or be so weak you could be using a 56K modem at that point.

That would be maybe because you're in a remote location where there is lack of service, likely the country side in a small village?

EE is really good with coverage even in super rural areas. The 1% who have no coverage are not very lucky.

Yeah when I was on the 3 network the connection always cut out when in a not so good location, my phone doesn't even support WiFi or 4G Calling on SMARTY either which would be an issue when the 3G network closes on the 3 network.

Plus EE is just more speedy and has more room and the network doesn't just stop working.
