Hi Christopher_G

I was advised by text there would be outages in my area due to upgrades for up to 4 days. How am I supposed to cope with no phone during this time? Will the outage be intermittent and if so, can EE advise when there will be service during this time? (Postcode: xxx xxx)

What if i don't have one? It's why I asked. I don't have several devices
with different network providers nor a landline.

No network will guarantee faultless 24x7x365 service, if that is important to you then I would recommend having multiple phones across different networks.

If you have been notified of planned works in advance of the outage, then you are in a position to make alternative arrangements.

Why should I buy another phone/sim card just to allow for outages, where no details have been given. If that is the case, I might as well just go with another provider altogether.

All network operators will conduct maintenance & upgrade work from time-to-time, and sometimes a loss of service is unavoidable.

Relying on a single operator or technology for all your comms does cause issues if ever there is a problem with that network or service. Many people have a second phone and/or landline for this reason.

@SezD Can you not using Wi-Fi calling when at home as you do have an internet connection ?

Other networks can have outages as well it’s not just EE who do upgrades to cellular masts.
