Some recent Android phones have the option to switch between "WiFi-preferred" & "mobile-preferred" which can be useful in some fringe coverage areas, If the option is not there in your phone's menu, then mobile is validly preferred as a default.

VoLTE (4G-voice calling) & VoWiFi (WiFi-calling) do both support bi-directional handover, but if the preferred radio carrier is poor - then dropped calls are likely to happen sooner or later.

Bit late to the party - sorry. I have poor signal at home and even with Wi-Fi calling I get cut off when the phone switches between Wi-Fi and 4g (I think it switches to Wi-Fi when 4g drops and vice Versa) I switch my phone to airplane mode so it can’t connect to the 4G and don’t get cut off - and always forget to switch it back when I’m out of the house 😂

Hi @nudges-wife

Welcome to the EE Community.

Does the Network Status Checker report any problems for the area?

If no problems are reported (after selecting the 'check status' option), please tap 'report a problem' so our network team can investigate and keep you updated.

Thanks.

Leanne

thanks for your concern, but unless you put a mast in my village it won’t change. Best signal in the village is to the side of the house opposite me! And even there the ice cream man can’t get a signal so it’s cash only!!
All phone providers are the same here - until the networks improve our rural coverage it’s what we have to put up with!
