Coverage in Abercanaid/Troed-Y-Rhiw

Update: 05 January 2023

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have accessed the site to restore power to the mast and restoring service to the area.

We will continue to monitor performance in Abercanaid/Troed-Y-Rhiw.

We are aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Abercanaid/Troed-Y-Rhiw area.

The site currently has no power being provided to it. We have been unable to gain access to the site and are in negotiations with the site provider. Because we’ve been unable to access the site, we have deployed a temporary mast in the area to restore some service.

We will continue to negotiate terms with the site provider to access the site to restore power and service.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will update this post as we get any updates.

In the meantime, you may be able to use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

This is absolutely ridiculous in the world of 2022. We can speak to the man on moon yet you can't get signal in troedyrhirw!

This access to site rubbish has been going on for weeks. I got an angle grinder if you want to meet me there to cut the gate lock. I'll bring a new lock aswell if you want

I can't wait for my contract to end I wouldn't even consider ee ever again in my life. Absolute **bleep** take

Why don’t EE pay farmer for entering his land, this happened a couple of years ago. EE would be quick enough sending a red letter or cutting us off if we didn’t pay bill

This is a poor show by EE. I work from home and am continually missing calls. It’s affecting my work. My son goes to school in troedyrhiw and is unable to contact me if he needs a lift. He has had to walk home several times because of train cancellations. It’s like living in the dark ages. I too will be cancelling EE when my contract runs out soon

Issues with indoor coverage can always be mitigated by using WiFi-calling. I appreciate it won't assist with outdoor service, but does allow continued use of phones without any need for mobile coverage.

Site-specific legal issues are easy to solve on forums, but can be complicated in practice.

Actually no. I use Wi-Fi calling to call out but when people try to call me they often cannot get through because there is no service. Wi-Fi calling works when I make calls but not receiving them. If I need to take a call I have to walk up to the taff trail and take it there. I had to stand out there for 45 minutes in the rain the other day to take a call

Can you please advise how I obtain a refund for not being able to use the service I pay for?

I have 4 phone with ee, this is ridiculous.

I do not have the time to hold when trying to get through on the phone.

"Wi-Fi calling works when I make calls but not receiving them" is not correct - the service allows incoming & outgoing calls & SMS.

If you're having problems receiving calls over WiFi, I'd recommend starting a separate thread to get those looked at. If you can dial out using VoWiFi, there should be no issue receiving them.

I would have thought the land owner should have signed a contract , if not WHY , EE should have set a new one not wait for this to happen , stop dragging ur feet EE get it sorted before u loose more customers

Iv had my contract 5 months and no signal for 4 of them can I cancel my contract it’s pointless

Yes they should let u out of ur contract as they haven’t kept their part of contract , I know someone who came out , ring them and tell me , I’m having the same problem and had my monthly payments back since it started

Due to the fact service isn't being provided 5o the end user I suggest everyone threatens to report to the ombudsman. Legally EE have to do this for you at a cost of £150 to themselves. If enough people will do this maybe they will just pay the farmer the money to enter the land and fix the issue

Ombudsman service complaints are only accepted once you have exhausted a provider's own complaints process. Either by a deadlock letter, or 8 weeks unresolved.

Yeh, as an underwriter I'm aware. Also it's been longer than the 6* weeks unresolved loss of service for many of us.
