The coverage checker is just guide not a guarantee of service and it does say that.

can you not use Wi-Fi calling when within that building?

Poor Signal strength

I have an Apple iPhone 11 pro and at work the signal strength is always maximum 1 bar on 4G but 95% of the time the speed is less than 3G.

The coverage checker on the EE website says that for my work postcode (AL1 4PR) that there should be a good 4G signal both indoors and outdoors. I have also contacted EE by email before and they say there is no issue with the network.

Clearly there is an issue as all of my colleagues who are also on the EE network comment on how bad the signal is all of the time.

This needs to be looked at by EE or the website amended because it is misleading to say signal strength is good indoors when it clear it isn't.

Can anyone provide some guidance?

I'm not sure how you queried EE by email as they don't have a CS-email address.

The signal bars on phone screens are purely indicative and a rough guide - although 1bar should not directly cause any issues with making voice calls, it's what my phone is showing now and it's working fine.

If you're having problems making calls with signal indicated, the problem is not necessarily poor coverage.
