Could you check your postcode on our network status checker please? It will let you know if we're aware of any maintenance works in your area.

When I first took out my contract I had signal where I live/work and for about 3 months now the signal has been getting progressively worse up to now where I simply don’t have anything most of the time. I’m missing calls, I can’t even ring 150 to discuss as I get “call failed” within seconds of it connecting can someone please advise what can be done about this?

Is your phone showing a complete lack of coverage? And is this outdoors as well?

Or do you have coverage but are having problems making/receiving calls? Does your phone show "VoLTE" when you get call failed errors?

You can always check for known issues in any location using "check status" on the online coverage tool

The coverage checker shows no signal indoors and weak outside which is inkeeping with reality but this was not the case when I took out the contract. I’ve been with EE for 15 years and not had this problem until the past few months so not sure what has changed or where I stand now that the coverage checker clearly shows I have no signal available any longer .

Sounds like there may have been changes to the network in your area, if the coverage prediction is matching your current experience.

No network guarantees coverage in any particular location, but if you have 4G-coverage outdoors and access to WiFi-indoors, then you have the basis for contiguous service with handover between the two.
