Find previous SIM location based on masts / cell towers?

Hi, I lost my phone in the early hours of Sunday morning.

I ordered a replacement SIM and made sure to disable account access for as many apps as I could. I checked with the place I visited, the police station nearby, and went out looking for it but sadly i cannot find it.

is it possible for EE to triangulate the previous location of where my SIM was based on the nearby masts it connected to?

No, this isn't CSI, it doesn't work like that.

You are better off using find my phone (android or apple) to locate your device.

@liamgc1993 , so long as you have reported both as lost or stolen, then they will be blacklisted and no-one will be able to use either of them and should not be able to get any data.

As @Northerner points out you best bet is to use the Find my Phone methods, not sure about Apple but if you have a Google Account, it will work both on the Sim Network and or if logged into WiFi, if you have deactivated the Sim then it should be possible to look at the Time Line on Google that may tell you the Last Location it was before being switched off or losing a Network Signal.

thank you all for your comments.

unfortunately i had location turned off on my google account. ii've looked up some more data from other apps/accounts and spoken to people in real life, i think i'll just accept that it is lost

I've got my Google Location Time Line thingy turned off but it still manages to find my Devices, I believe it tracks it through the Play Store App in the background.

"Find my device" facilities are one of those functions that you will only ever need when it's too late to set it up....

I occasionally test it across all my Android devices.
