Placed order November 8th for an iPad as a Xmas present. Still no delivery date. What are the chances of receiving before 25/12?

Checked tracker - coming soon… Ben saying that since Dec 11; but no date yet when it will be

2021 64GB Silver.
Talked to customer services and they have no idea when coming into stock.
Not sure it is ethical to:

a) accept orders without knowing when stock is due in ( order was placed 6 weeks ago as of today)

b) to send update emails with titles like ‘Your order is almost ready’ when clearly it is not.

As far as I can see, that model is out of stock and isn't available to order at the moment. Did they confirm that the order is still on back order for when we get stock in?
