Pixel 3xl Delay with no communication

I preordered the Pixel 3XL and was told it would be delivered on the 1st (not sometime after the 1st, on the 1st). I phoned up the night before to confirm as I'd had no emails, no confimation of my order or anything about delivery, only to be told it could be another 3 weeks. They didn't contact me to let me know there was going to be a delay and I still haven't received any communication from EE, I don't even have my order number to use the 'track my order' facility. I was told I wouldn't be given any notice when it was going to be delivered, just a text on the day of delivery. If they had at least contacted me to let me know of the delay I wouldn't be so annoyed but this is ridiculous! Anyone had better luck getting info out of them?

@nl1 No pre order is a guarantee of delivery and you should not of been told you will get it on the 1st. If you don’t have a XKN number then your order hasn’t been processed. You’ll need to call customer services about that.

I have nothing either, ordered on the 9th too, they just say it's an open sales order I've been told I will have it my the 9th if not, I'm going to three. They have it in stock for next day delivery.

If EE had been more helpful and transparent about the issue I wouldn't mind waiting.

I've got a call back booked in Friday morning from am advisor, I hope it comes but I'm pretty sure I'll be cancelling my contract on that phone call.

I have just spoken to EE and been told that if I do not receive black pixel xl 64gb on the 8th or 9th I would have to wait until earliest the 4th December over a month from release date. So even the staff do not have a clue what is going on.

no apologising just asked if I would like to cancel my order and order a different phone

we have 4 EE contract phones in our house and been with then for over 7 years, maybe time to switch to another supplier as pre ordering and loyalty counts for nothing.

Wow, that is awful. I spoke to them this morning and was still getting the same 'within the next three weeks' but this evening I received a text saying it will be delivered tomorrow, - not sure if I trust that though as I've seen a few people get that text and the phone not show up!

I hope you get yours in the next few days, 4th Dec is ridiculous

When did you order yours? That might help me get a timescale on mine, I ordered the 9th October after the announcement.

I originally ordered on the 9th but had to reorder on the 28th because of an issue with the order. I have ordered 'not pink' though, looking at the website it seems black has the longest wait, for new orders it says dispatch within 28 days for black but 3 weeks for white and pink. I'll let you know if it arrives.

I was right not to believe the text... Called this morning and they can't explain why I was sent it as I am definitely not getting the phone today...

EE are now saying that delivery on all pixel phones will be 28 days from when the order was placed.

Another excuse as I don’t think they have a clue what is happening.

I've just had a text from them to say there's been a further delay, with a link to track the order, and they will credit my account with £50 when I receive the phone.

I have had the same message. Their not committing to a date now I was told yesterday 4th December so this maybe the date they will be advising people.

Yeah I got the same text. I've cancelled my order and contract picking up my 3 XL tomorrow from local Vodafone store. And they're giving me a free home hub (the one with the screen) win win

Just had the same message. I was told last Tuesday that they say within 7 days but it will be much sooner. Even sky and virgin mobile have these phones in stock. Yet the "biggest fastest network" has none and blame Google for manufacturing delays.
