Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I had not used the sim card in any phone until today. It was put in by a mobile phone shop and today I put £5.00 on it without issue (balance confirmed by EE chat). The phone still says no service and they just suggest taking phone to local ee shop. Called them and they were no use.

I suppose it is a good job it was only £5.00. My question to EE was - if it is a £10.00 for 30 days with 2gb of data, 100 mins and ultd sms, if I added another £5 would it come to life?

Hi

I found a PAYG sim card and had it put into a phone - the number is showing up but the phone advises of no service. I had not been a member of EE before. I topped up £5.00 to the mobile number and still no service. Not impressed - lost £5.00 and the local EE shop don't want to know and EE chat no use either.

Annoyed customer

And just to ask is the device your trying to use an EE device or a unlocked device. And get a sim that you’ve not found.

Sounds like it has gone into hibernation.

When did you (or anyone if you just found it on the street) last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

No, if it's already in hibernation, it will remain in hibernation however much you top it up with.

If it's not in hibernation, you would have been able to make calls & texts with just £5 credit.
