Thanks! I think the issue with ordering the sim in advance was me using my Visa card to pay, which of course is linked to a USA address - that was a no-go, if I remember correctly. Or, it may have been a different carrier than EE! This was three years ago - I can't remember what I did two days ago!

Anyway I have just received my itinerary and see that my hotel is a 15-minute walk to an EE store so I think I'll just take care of it in person.

I also still have my EE account from the last paygo sim from 2018, and may even have that SIM in a drawer here - but I assume it's no good as my number would be recycled by now. Otherwise I could top it off and save the walk to the store.

Thanks again for the quick reply!

Monthly paygo SIM plans - same prices online & in stores?

Hello, I'm a yank traveling to England & Scotland soon and will want to get a pay-as-you-go SIM card for my unlocked iPhone on arrival. I've done this before and iirc was a little surprised when going into an EE store after arriving. Again, my memory may be faulty but I think the plans and prices available in a store were different and more expensive than what I was seeing online. I don't think I can sign up online because that requires one to have a UK address. I even tried to have the SIM card mailed to (and held at) the hotel I was staying at and it never arrived.

I'm pretty sure either the 5GB for £10 or 15GB for £15 plan I'm seeing online will work for me. Will I be able to get either of these in a store? Thanks!

@reezekeys : They should be the same price. There is no cost of the SIM hardware itself, just for the price of the pack which is standard.

You can even get a Free PAYG Phone SIM online & choose your pack yourself either at the time or later. There is no reason why it can't be sent to a hotel.

Yes, after 9 months of non-use it would've been deactivated.
