I received a text from EE saying top up my account by £5 and I will get 120 free minutes. I have done so and the free minutes are showing (along with 43 Mb of data which has been showing for many months). My question is, do these have a time limit or are they there forever unless I use them.

Just been back into my account and found a section about addons. Here it lists my data Mb unused and 2 lots of 120 minutes of calls - against one lot it says ends 1 September, but says nothing against second lot.

I paid the £5 earlier today. I am not sure why it is showing 2 lots of free minutes. From your earlier post I get why there is the 1 Sept end date (though they never mentioned it!), but why a second lot of 120 minutes showing no end date?

It may be worth double checking with our Mobile Care team. They have access to your account and will be able to check your add-ons.
