PAYG SIM Not Provisioned

Hello, I just received a PAYG SIM and receive a SIM Not Provisioned for Voice message on my phone, and when I try to register the number that came on the SIM card packaging the website/app says it is not valid. I have tried restarting my phone and re-inserting the SIM.

I use my phone for everything so totally get how important it is to stay connected.

Can I please check if this is a new line or is the SIM a replacement on an excising line?

Hi, it is a new line. The new PAYG SIM came in the post with an identified phone number printed on the paper, that will not register on myEE. I have not yet paid for a pack but cannot do so since the number will not register.

You won't be able to register with My EE until the new number is active.

Pay as you go SIM cards should come ready to go. Does your phone show that you have signal at all?

Hi yes -- anywhere from 3 to full bars, but a "SIM not provisioned MM#2" message.

@veb3 it can take 24 hours for the SIM to activate on the network but is usually faster. How long has the SIM been in your phone?

I would say about 4 hours? I can certainly monitor it and periodically restart and such to see if it activates.

Have you ordered a Data SIM rather than a Phone SIM? Post a pic of the packaging.

Fairly certain it's a phone SIM as it gave me a phone number and a pack with minutes/texts.

It's still not yet registered.

(Tried to upload a picture but it may not be an acceptable format)

The image was probably awaiting approval as it needs to be. Post it again & wait awhile.

All SIMs, phone or data, have mobile nos. That's how they work on mobile networks.

Yes, that's a phone SIM.

If you text NUMBER to 150 from it does it come up with the no. on the packaging?

Are you trying to add it to a MyEE a/c that already has contract no(s)?

I cannot text 150 because I do not have service, because the SIM has still not registered or connected to the network. When I look at the phone settings, the number shows up as the same on the packaging.

It is a new EE account, that I cannot fully set up, because I cannot associate the number.

Hi, I ordered the SIM on Monday and it was delivered yesterday -- it's been in my phone for just over 24 hours at this point. It is an unlocked phone (Samsung Galaxy S10).

I get the impression from Google that those msgs mean the SIM has been suspended & works only For Emergency Use. Did you buy it direct from EE?

You need to complain to CS by calling on +44 800 956 6000 (option 2 > option 4) . That won't ask for an EE mobile no.
