I have just placed a £10 'Data SIM' in my Huawei E5573 4G dedicated to the Three network. I appeared to set itself up ok and I have connected my Samsumg Galaxy tab3 tablet to it succesfully and managed to make an ebay purchase ok. However via this website (@ https://myaccount.ee.co.uk/app/landing-payg) it tells me:- Data: 14 MB left of 50 MB just 24 hours after installation! This seems excessively ex[ensive!!

So I have tried to look into this further and see how to add more credit. All top up facilities on your site require the mobile number so I have tried to access the Huawei E5573 via 192.168.1.1, which uploads the software interface ok and offers the username "admin". When I enter "admin" into the password field it tells me there is an error with this entry! I have reset the device a couple of times but still does not accept the default password of "admin"!

So,

1. This SIM seems extraordinarily expensive at £10 and appears to last only 48 hours?!

2. The Huawei E5573 dedicated to the Three network does not allow access to the SIM in order to ascertain its mobile number which is essential for any further management of top-ups etc!!

3. Not the most pleasing introduction to your Network or dedicated device!!

Can you offer any help and advice please?

Many thanks

Dave B

Hi @Dave1147

Welcome to the community.

Which data pack did you choose? It could be that it comes with 50MB allowance, but has another boosted amount as an add-on. 50MB isn't a great deal of data for a 4G device.

You should be able to find the mobile number from the packaging or by putting the SIM into a mobile phone.

If you just need to know your Number then Text NUMBER to 150 or Login to your EE Account (or creat one with the SIM) or Download the EE App to your Phone.

You can also confirm your Data Usage / Allowance by texting AL to 150 or Online using this Link whilst connected on EE Mobile Data Network -

http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status

It's probably going to be easier to do any or all of the above by removing the SIM from the Router and using a Phone to Initialally set things up or to receive info by text messaging rather than use the Router, as if the Router is Three Branded, even if it is Unlocked it will still be running Three Firmware and may throw up up some Barriers here and there with an EE SIM.

How did you do the Factory Reset, within the Software or Hardware, if doing the Hardware Reset push and hold the Reset button down for more than 5 Seconds.

Most Huawei Routers Login is 192.168.8.1 and not 192.168.1.1 and access User and Password is admin and admin, although after a Reset it could just be login admin then follow the screen prompt to set up a Password for the first time and or use the the default Password info that came with the Router, check Box and Router labels etc or you may need to contact Three regarding default Passwords for Their Branded Routers.

36MB data isn't much. What EE SIM have you got? Have you topped it up with £10? If you had you should have 4GB of data. If you hadn't you must be using the initial free starter 50MB. Text AL to 150 from it to find out.

To find your mobile no. look at http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi as well as seeing your data & credit status.

Network Locked and Firmware, as said some are Network Locked and some arnt but the Firmware would normally still be locked to Three even if it's been Unlocked, a few may have got through the system as "Huawei Unlocked" which would be Globel Firmware but depends on Threes Stock at any one time.

Then just to add Huawei also have different Unlocking Tiers, Network Unlocking and Firmware Unlocking depending on the Networks Requirement, and as a measure to stop unauthorized Lock Codes being used.

On Three the Routers are normally set the go the Threes Landing Page, which you don't need Three Credit for, it Free on their Network, or Chargable on a n other but it just a couple's of Web Pages so I can't see that consuming tons of Data.
