Buying a minutes, texts and data PAYG SIM Pack, how soon do I get the number

I am abroad at the moment and need to return to the UK. My UK home quarantine address rarely has a signal for my Vodafone number.
I am thinking of buying a new SIM, reason to be here.

On buying my quarantine testing kit I have to give a phone number where I can be contacted during the 10 days of quarantine, I know that EE works at my home address.

" When I buy a PAYG SIM Pack, is the number sent to me in advance? "

The reason I need the number in advance is the quarantine testing kit has to be bought before travel, I have to have a reachable phone at the time of buying thr testing kits.

@bb39 : No, you are not sent the no. in advance. The no. comes on the SIM which is sent by Royal Mail to your UK address & is printed on its packaging.

I have an old phone using a standard (large) sized SIM, do these SIM's come in the 3 size card type ?

Yes, It will come as a Combi-SIM with all 3 sizes as push-outs.

As you are very knowledgable re things EE and I am not, may I ask one more question please.

When the sim arrives is it just a simple fit and use or do I have to open up an account etc online with EE first?

I do appreciate your expert help and yes I am just about there starting from zero, the power of knowledge.

Yes, just fit & use it. You may have to top-up 1st if you applied for a free PAYG SIM or you can buy a PAYG SIM already topped-up.

You don't need to register an online a/c at all to run it but it might be slightly easier. Otherwise you can do everything by text.
