Pay as you go?

I recently bought a mobile phone to replace my (non smart) phone.

I do not use the phone very much and used to top up my phone once every few months.

I thought I would be able to do the same with my new phone.

Am I missing something or do I now have to buy a "pack"?

If the packs expire every month surely this is more like a contract.

Is there any way I can continue, more or less as before and only pay for the calls I make and the data I use? ie payg.

Has far as I know, all pay as you go sim cards come ready to be a pack, once you have topped it up.

What you need to do to have the sim card working without a pack is to:

Text STOP PACK to 150 before you EVER top up. You can then use the sim for calls, texts (unfortunately I am not sure on if data is allowed when you don't have a pack).

Thanks for coming to the community.

The pack will last for 30 days and would need renewed after this, if you don't want to use a pack, you can text STOP PACK to 150 before you next top up and you can then pay to send texts and make calls.

If you would like to use data you would need to purchase a data add-on, you can do this by visiting add-on.ee.co.uk.

Please see our What is pay as you go and flex hibernation, and how do I stop it? article, to ensure you don’t lose your number if you don't use the SIM for awhile.
