Underage contract.

Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask.

It has come to my attention that a minor that I know has lied about their age earlier this year to get a phone contract from EE. They were pressured into it by their old friends and he also suffers from mental health difficulties, learning difficulties and autism.

He no longer receives enough money to pay for it and is suffering quite a lot of anxiety about what EE will do.

If this is reported to EEs fraud team, will they add a CIFAS marker against their name or take any other action?

There is no direct account access on this forum, but was this contract taken out in a retail shop or via online/telesales?

I'm not familiar with the age verification process, but the answer (and therefore advice) potentially differs depending on the method of sale.
