What are is this charge?

The first one is what I was expecting but what is the second charge of 32.77? Why does it appear I am getting charged for the same thing?

Hi @Andromedaa ,

Assuming you are on pay monthly, I would recommend that you open an online chat to ask the service provider to explain the charge. It could be a glitch in the system or there might be a reasonable explanation for it.

Have you recently taken this plan out? It could be the charge for between when you started it & your 1st bill. That will be for about 12 days. The full £80 charge will be for the coming month in advance.

To further clarify @XRaySpeX answer - when you connect to EE, you are allocated a monthly bill cycle, and the refresh date will rarely be a month after you connect.

This means you'll have a part-months service between connecting and your first bill cycle - which will then include that part-month in arrears, followed by the first full-month service in advance.

The most likely explanations for the £32.77 charge are given there as

What will my first phone bill include?
Your first EE phone bill will cover:

your monthly plan charge: this is the standard monthly cost of your plan charged a month in advance of your joining date with EE
add-ons: for example, international minutes or picture messages
device charges: if there’s an upfront cost to pay or a delivery charge

It's highly unlikely that you will be part-billed for a partial month because your renewal and billing cycle will be aligned to simplify things. The only partial month would most likely be the final month with the service provider.

Good to know:
The date of your first phone bill will also be the date your plan's allowances renew each month.

I recently joined the service provider in May and this appears to match the arrangement I've had with previous service providers also that the first month is a full month and not a partial month. I've just now downloaded my fourth bill dated for August and all four bills have been for the full amount of £20 with no partial-month bills.

If you were previously with EE and have upgraded, the situation may be different in your

case. I would be interested to hear the definitive explanation from the service provider. Good luck!
