Hi @OliverHyam

Welcome to the EE community

If you have genuinely performed an "upgrade" on your existing plan, which is effectively just a change of payment plan, then there is no need for a new SIM if your existing one is already working. You might even find your new plan is already active if you check in your myEE online account.

If you have inadvertently ordered a new line with a new number (which does sometimes happen), then you'll need to arrange cancellation of that with EE C/S directly.

As regards your regular payment, this will update automatically alongside the billing change I mentioned above. Your existing plan will cease, and new plan will take over, both on the same date. Your first monthly bill after the changeover will include the appropriate pro-rata debits or credits, and subsequent monthly bills will be for complete months service on your new plan.

Good afternoon,

I have just upgraded my phone to a SIM only contract for £23 a month and I have a couple of questions

1. Do I need to wait for a new SIM card in the post as I have a confirmation email with delivery address details etc, giving me the impression that I have to wait for a new SIM?

2. I've just paid my final bill on my 24 month contract. Will I carry on paying £50 a month or will my Direct Debit automatically update to £23 a month? I don't want to end up paying for two different contracts when I only use one

Thank you

Hi there,

Many thanks for your response.

I've just checked My EE and I'm assuming that based on this screenshot, all has updated and I don't need to do anything else. I have censored my phone number for privacy but it is exactly the same as before. So my direct debit will update to the new amount and I'll only pay £23 from now on?

Many thanks

Images need to be manually approved before public visibility which I've now done - this is to avoid private info being uploaded accidentally.

It does indeed look to me, that your new plan is already active.
