To keep the number and continue the contract you will need to do a transfer of ownership.

The number can't be moved to a new line without closure of the other contract, if this is something you wish to do then please give our customer care team a call with your Uncle available.

You need to call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. You will need to pass a credit check. You will then be paying for both contracts.

Hi @Amymarie93 ,

In principle, to accomplish what you are trying to do, your uncle should obtain a PAC from the old service provider which you will give to your new service provider.

You need to be careful that if the old contract is still within its minimum term there will be an Early Termination Charge that could be very large and cause huge problems for your uncle. Please do check this.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/switching/switching-mobile-phone-provider

For clarity, can @Amymarie93 confirm whether their current number that they're wishing to transfer, is on EE or another network?

If this number is with another provider, then the PAC process is correct - there's also help on this EE help page

If this number is currently with EE, then the advice to follow the change of ownership is correct and a PAC is irrelevant.

The old service provider that dare not speak its name = the new service provider that dare not speak its name = EE. PACs don't work for the same provider & EE won't move nos. between contracts. So you can only use PACs to port out & back to yet another service provider.
