Hi,

I've got an EE SIM that I've recently put back into my iphone 6s after a period abroad (it worked previously). I've reactivated the plan, but the phone is alternating between recognising the EE network and giving a 'no SIM' error, suggesting damage / dirt possibly?

Could EE send me a like for like replacement SIM card please? Alternatively, any tips on how to clean old SIM contacts?

Cheers

How long have you been away w/out using the SIM? If it's PAYG it could have gone into hibernation. EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.

You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.

Thank you Leanne.

I certainly can try the SIM in another phone. The account is pay as you go.

If I do have to get another SIM I would like to keep the same number if possible please.

Thanks.

XRaySpeX,

Cheers for that. Ah well that is a shame, I have been out of the country 2 years. I did just purchase a pack on My Account which seemed to go through fine.

What are my options? It sounds like I cannot keep the same number in any case...

I've just spoken with tech support via chat - they've confirmed my original number is still active in my name (2 years since last usage!), so the No SIM error is perhaps due to damage / corrosion of the contacts. The network is actually currently working well for me; it seems that the error is an intermittent effect.

If it continues I should be able to simply buy a replacement SIM.

Thanks for all the help!
