Is the new phone unlocked or locked to EE. It needs to be to accept an EE SIM.

I have a new android phone bought for me from another supplier. It was not an upgrade. I have transferred the data and put my sim in but my number doesn't seem to have transferred over. What else do I need to do to use my number. The new phone did not come with a sim card. Thanks

I don't know if it is locked or not. When it was bought for me from Carphone Warehouse they were told that it was for an EE phone and also we just had to transfer the data and put the sim in. How can I tell if its locked. Going into the phone and looking at the details it says the number on the phone is not none. I just thought I put the sim in and it would work. Thanks

Hi @Trish35

Welcome to the community 😊

I hope you're well and having a nice day.

If you were advised the phone should work on EE, then just like @XRaySpeX said, if you put your original SIM in it should be the same number. It should also work no problem.

Have you had anyone try to call you while the SIM in in your new phone?

Thanks.

Chris.

When you say "the number doesn't seem to have transferred over", what do you mean by this?

As has already been advised, it's the SIM that holds your number & subscription. So when you put your existing (working) SIM in the new phone - what happens?

Do you get signal bars? Are you able to make or receive any calls?
