Can I Keep My Current Plan When Switching To An eSIM?

I'm currently on a sim only plan that I don't want to change as the price and benefits are perfect. I'm currently planning on getting an iPhone 12 directly from Apple and it requires an eSIM.

If I order an eSIM from EE, am I able to use my current sim only plan and transfer the data onto the eSIM or will I need to change plans?

I hope someone can help as I can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere.

Hi @Sheaney95

A SIM swap is not normally any reason to change your payment plan, and I'm not aware of any reason for an eSIM swap to be any different.

And whilst others are more familiar with the iOS arena, I'd be very surprised if Apple insisted on an eSIM for any particular phone. They may well encourage it, or sell it as an advantage, but that's not the same as insisting. I'm open to being corrected on that point!

Yes, if you order an eSIM on your present no. your current plan is transferred to it lock, stock & barrel..
