Channg phones

My iPhone SE (1st gen) is not working.
I have ordered a new one
an iPhone SE (2nd gen),
How do I go about transferring
the SIM and number from the faulty phone
to the new one please.
I have a recent backup of the old phone.
Please advise.
I am a Pay_as_you_go customer
so EE are not interested in chatting to me.

Hi @TMNIrish

Your phone doesn't have a number, it is the SIM that holds your subscription, number & associated account details.

So if you've bought a new phone, simply put your existing SIM into your new phone and your number is immediately transferred.

If your new phone has a different size SIM slot to your old one, you can order a replacement SIM here

Thank you. That sounds pretty straightforward.
I did not realise that about SIMs.
I hope the 2nd gen has the same size SIM slot.
Hopefully, if it does not EE will be able to put
my existing number on a new different sized SIM ?

You can check which size SIM any Apple phones take, on this Apple support page.

By means of advice, you've also posted your email addresses on a public internet forum, which is an open invitation for spammers to start emailing you. I'd suggest you edit those posts to remove your personal details.

I have not got the hang of this site.
It had not occurred to me that I should not have clicked the Reply in an email.
Stupid. I think one of you deleted all my email addresses. Thank you !

Obviously I should have logged in to the site again as I have now.

The title of this post was a typing error. It was supposed to be Changing phones.

The new iPhone arrived yesterday morning
so I have had it for about 2 days and 1 night.
They both use Nano SIMs so that was no problem.
I restored from a backup on my computer
made within the last fortnight, I think.
I forgot to look at the date on it.
Afterwards it takes quite a while to download all the apps
and setting up Applepay and other things is tedious.
Basically I would say it has gone pretty smoothly.
Thank you again for your replies.
I shall mark this as a solution as requested
in an email from EE this morning.
