Just received a new phone for daughter but Christmas but want to activate sim now in her old phone if possible. Can I then move the sim to the new phone on Xmas day or will it lock to first phone installed into?

Hi @Hubbs_23

If this is an upgrade phone, and the new phone takes the same size SIM as your daughter's existing phone, then you can simply use her existing SIM in the new phone whenever suits you.

There's no need to activate any new SIM if the existing SIM is working ok.

She’s with virgin atm but her phone is my old unlocked one from EE. Got her a new phone and number from EE. Just thought we might as well use the new sim now in her old phone seeing as we are paying for it.

Any EE SIM will work in any EE phone - providing it's the correct size. Your only limitation will be the physical size of the SIM slot.
