I have just purchased a new contracted through a third party via EE network and my previous network was also with EE, i want to keep my number but i understand that i have to go buy a Pay as you go sim from another network.

Could someone tell me if this is the correct process:

1. Call EE and ask for PAC code.

2. Buy Pay as you go sim from another network, Call network and give them your PAC code to transfer your number too on your old phone, wait till number has gone across successfully.

3. Once your number is on Pay as you go sim, contact them and ask for a PAC code.

4. Call original network and give them your PAC and they will transfer your old number across to your new sim with new phone contract.

Is this correct and how long does the overall process take?

Furthermore most networks can provide free PAYG SIMs. You don't need to use the SIM & you don't need to spend money.
