upgraded to a new 5g phone but no new sim needed?

i have just upgraded to a new 5g phone (s20+) but once purchase made the email states no new sim card is needed? i was under the impression we need a 5g sim card to use 5g network speeds etc, my current sim card is a number of years old so probably an early 4g card, could you clarify?

That's correct, you won't need a different SIM to access 5G.
