No phone

My old phone (sim only) is playing up so I upgraded

The phone never arrived because DPD insist my house in the one up the road (which it isn't It hasn't even got my houses's name on it)

I now have no phone but EE want £438.00 before they'll give me a PAC code to go to another network and therefore have a phone again.

And, in the day of the internet why do I have to send a letter like my great grandfather did in Victorian times?

I will go to another network, cancel my direct debit and let a Judge sort this out. If they send baliffs: expect to see me on the news but I am not paying £438 for absolutley nothing

And, after over an hour on the phone EE said they would cancel the upgrade which I never got. They never did because they want to steal £438 from me

Did our Mobile Care team on 150 advise you to send a letter? if so, what was this for?

@cha2082 EE will allow you to upgrade to a full contract from a sim only at no extra charge ( ie pay off the sim only to the minimum term ) if you want to change networks then you’ll need to pay off the sim only to the minimum term.

DPD never attempted to deliver the phone they took it to a house up the road and point blank refused to deliver it here: they said I live in the house up the road which, of course, I don't. The clue is the name on the front of the house in question: it doesn't even look or sound like my house name.

I rang customer services on an 0800 number and they said they would cancel the upgrade which they have not done which, I beleive, is why I'm expected to pay 438.00 to cancel a contract which is a few days old but it is an invalid contract and I am within my rights to cease it under the 14 day rules - if nothing else

The EE site says I have to send a letter which I won't do - why should I? Or maybe I'll send it via DPD and it could end up anywhere.

I have checked. My minimum cancellation term is 30 days notification which translates to £14.60 per day. £438 to cancel a sim only contract with a 30 day notification period - a bit steep wouldn't you say?

cha282.. on the matter of delivery - DPD should have some evidence (possibly photographic) as to where they delivered your item. If they have definitely delivered it to the wrong address and are unwilling to retrieve it then it has to be deemed lost. That being the case EE should be claiming the loss from DPD.

DPD did indeed send me a photo of the house up the road and when I told them they said "he was at your house" so I'm obviously a liar. Nevertheless the house in question is 200metres away and on the other side of the road and has a different name on it.

I asked them to deliver it here and they refused.

Where is the phone now? - who knows? the owner of the house up the road wasn't in.

What? Waste another hour?

I shall cease the direct debit and hopefully EE will sue me rather than just assign a debt collection company.

They will do the latter I suspect.
