upgrade phone with old sim, new sim in old phone?

I'm about to receive my upgrade phone, and as I understand it can use my old sim in my upgrade phone and I keep my number.

But the sim that I will receive, can I activate that for use in my old phone with a new number as Pay as You Go? Or do I need to order a new PAYG sim for the old phone?

Hi @rotjeknor.

You will need to order a new pay as you go SIM.

The one that arrives will not be attached to an account, whereas ordering a pay as you go SIM will set up a pay as you go account ready for you to use.
