Hi @Clairebell44

If you already have PAC code, you can move your number on another network, e.g. Vodafone, and then you need to do the same again get your Pac of from other network and bring it back to your new sim.

https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/getting-started-and-upgrading/keep-my-number/how-do-i-transfer-my-number-to-ee

Thanks

Just to add, a PAC is for moving to another network and taking your number with you.

Ordinarily if you wanted to move your out-of-contract pay-monthly number to PAYG, you'd just call EE C/S, and say something along the lines of "I want to give 30days notice to cancel my contract and move to PAYG" and they would arrange it.

If you've bought yourself a PAYG SIM separately, C/S maybe able to move your details across to it but I don't know for sure.

So if i want to keep my Number without doing an upgrade with EE i have to transfer to another network then transfer back to EE? Now you say that i think i had to that a couple years ago. Went and got a sim from poundland to do the switch. Why do they make it so hard to keep your number with them and not spend a fortune on an upgrade. Ridiculous!

Changing your phone while keeping your same number is called an upgrade, and therefore. you need to follow the upgrade process. Both EE-direct & third parties can sell phones as upgrades.

If you want to follow back-door routes to work around that process, then you're quite entitled to... It depends how much you think you'll save compared with the hassle value. You may also find EE can offer you an account-specific offer if you call and ask nicely, there's no harm in trying.
